Slidin Thru

I ate at a great truck stop last week. It's called Slidin Thru. It is 3 young culinary art students, that travel around the valley in this cool california style truck and sell some delicious sliders. Each week they post their schedule of where they are going to be at. Last Saturday they were on Durango across the street from Retro Bakery. We decided to go around 7. They were there from 6-9pm. We brought a couple of chairs (good thinking on my part), and when we arrived there was already a line of about 15 people. Alot of other people brought chairs, sat under some trees, relaxed. I stood in line and talked to this nice fellow from LA and he and his family were staying at the Belliago;when he heard where the slidin thru truck was going to be, he said they had to come, it was so yummy. They sell gourmet sliders and regular fries and sweet potato fries, but that night we were there the frier was broke, bummer for us, as we were looking forward to those sweet potato fries. Not my husband though, he grew up poor and they went out and picked sweet potato's almost everyday and that was their dinner and to this day he hates them, no matter how i cook them.  So to get back to the food, it was as good as I was hoping. I had the barbie  and pep pep and the pulled pork. 3 sliders for $7. two for $5 or $3 each. Great deal and good size.  The pulled pork was tender but needed more sauce. The barbie and pep pep were to die for. Great quality beef.  Great flavors. they also had an eggplant caprese my daughter Ashley had, she said it needed a bigger piece of eggplant though.  Overall, I'm going back again. but some tips. don't wait and go 30 mins. before they close as sometimes they run out of food, and you could be waiting 25 mins in line and they come and tell you their out, but they are nice enough to give you some free slider coupons for the next time you come. during the summer bring a lawn chair and prepare to just relax and hang and visit as it was one hour from the time i ordered (each order freshly made) to the time I was sittingin my chair and eating. But let me tell you it was worth it. The best sliders I"ve ever had. So wait til the sun is almost down and head out. Look them up at slidinthru.com. they are out for lunch and dinner. And they guy in line told me if you tell them you read about them on YELP they give you a free slider, which they did. A fun different kind of experience. So this experience was definately a "MAKES SENSE".
